Mineral Sun Barrier Stick - Koru Performance

Highlights

The human body requires energy for each cell to function. The metabolic process is a primary way the body generates energy. Vitamin D helps your body to utilize the sun to make it vitamin D. It is an important nutrient for strong bones and muscles. A deficiency in vitamin D can cause adverse effects, from weakened bones to muscle pain to fatigue and depression. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to vomiting, nausea, and headaches. Sun exposure during exercise an important way to help prevent vitamin D deficiency.

Often, athletes have Vitamin D deficiency, which can contribute to decreased recovery and increased risk of injury. Kōru Vitamin D lotions help maximize the vitamin D levels of athletes, which can improve their performance. Our Vitamin D based Endurance Lotion helps reduce pain and increases the absorption of other key ingredients to help athletes achieve their best results. Our products are both safe to use over time and appropriate for use by athletes of all levels. Sunscreen alternatives are as essential as any piece of equipment in the arsenal of every athlete.

Athletes take vitamins to provide the nutrients they need to perform, and also train outdoors to ensure they are getting adequate vitamin D. Food alone is not enough to recover and build muscle. The human body is made up of cells, but they are the smallest units of life. Cells need energy and process food through a process called metabolism. It is incredibly important for athletes to ensure that they are supplementing with the right nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients so that they can build muscle.

Vitamin D is essential for muscle growth and repair, as well as optimizing the absorption of calcium and magnesium, which are essential nutrients for athletes. Kōru's sunscreen alternatives are specially formulated to help athletes achieve their performance goals. It is necessary for the body to make its own vitamin D, which is accomplished through exposure to sunlight. The human body can also produce vitamin D when foods are eaten that have been exposed to the sun. Deficiency is rare in the United States, but it can still occur if a person does not spend time in sunlight.

Vitamin D also has an impact on sleep quality and quantity. Tested positive effects include better sleep quality and quantity, fewer night awakenings, and more deep and restful sleep. It is possible that vitamin D supplementation, found in certain lotions, increases sleep quality by increasing levels of melatonin. Vitamin D also affects the body’s circadian rhythm—the body’s internal clock—which may contribute to sleep. Deficiencies in Vitamin D tend to reduce an individual’s ability to fall asleep. The recommended daily intake of Vitamin D for adults is 600 IU per day. Athletes should speak with their doctor about adjusting their Vitamin D intake based on their specific needs and goals.

Vitamin D | Sun Exposure

The human body is made up of many different types of cells, and each cell requires energy in order to function. One of the primary ways the body generates energy is through the metabolic process, which is the breakdown of food into energy. Vitamin D is involved in the body’s ability to utilize sunlight to create vitamin D, an important nutrient for strong bones and healthy muscles and joints. A deficiency in vitamin D can result in a number of adverse health effects, including weakened bones, muscle pain, fatigue, and even depression and anxiety. In addition, vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a number of symptoms including headache, nausea, and vomiting. Sun exposure is an important way to prevent vitamin D deficiency.

Several of our performance products are specially formulated to provide pain relief and optimize the absorption of other key ingredients, such as calcium and magnesium, to help athletes achieve their best results. Our vitamin D lotions are both safe to use long-term and appropriate for use by athletes of all levels. Sunscreen alternatives are an essential part of any athlete's toolkit.

In a study published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine, supplementation with 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day for six weeks resulted in significant improvement in recovery after intense training. Bodybuilders who took 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day saw an increase in muscle strength and size, while athletes who took 5,000 IU of vitamin D per day saw an increase in performance and training volume. Vitamin D is essential for muscle growth and repair, as well as optimizing the absorption of calcium and magnesium, which are essential nutrients for athletes. Our sunscreen alternatives are specially formulated to help athletes achieve their performance goals.

Vitamin D also has an impact on sleep. In a study published in the Journal of Sleep Research, participants who took a vitamin D supplement had better sleep quality and quantity than those who took a placebo. It is possible that vitamin D supplementation, found in our Recovery LotionEndurance Lotion, improves sleep quality by increasing levels of melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate sleep. Vitamin D also affects the circadian rhythm—the body’s internal clock—which may contribute to sleep. Deficiencies in Vitamin D can result in poor sleep. The recommended daily intake of Vitamin D for adults is 600 IU per day.
